The land of Ireland is a green gift to all of us. The Green Sod Land Trust is working to save this land for present and future generations.

The purpose of The Green Sod Land Trust: An Foidín Glas, Ireland, is to conserve and protect land with its indigenous animals, plants, waters and soils for their own sake and for the sake of present and future generations.

The Trust is established in the belief that land has become a mere ‘commodity’, something to be bought and sold for human benefit only.

This attitude has allowed people to plunder land that we will never be able to recreate. The Green Sod Land Trust believes land to be a gift that is shared by all beings in the community of life.

In holding land in trust we acknowledge and respect it for it’s own sake, regardless of any value it may have for particular human interest.

We acknowledge the earth as a bountiful community of living beings of which we are one part. The Green Sod Land Trust holds land respectfully for present and future generations.
