The sun shone brightly on an informal fun gathering of ‘little women with big ideas’, held in an urban back garden in Galway in July. The purpose of the gathering was to, renew acquaintances and to inform people of the work of Green Sod Land Trust. As a result of a raffle of garden produce and home-made breads, a generous donation was made to the Trust by the women. Several women also became members of the Trust on the day. The organiser hopes to have another ‘little women with big ideas’ gathering in the near future (one that will be held indoors this time!) and encourages others to do likewise.

Mary Nally of Artisit? held a birthday bash in Nimmos Restaurant, Spanish Arch, Galway in June. This very successful night led to a generous donation to the Trust as well as doing much to raise awareness on the work of the Trust. People are fed-up with getting more ‘things’ for birthday presents – ‘things’ they don’t want or need. Mary’s ingenuity in asking people to make a donation to Green Sod Land Trust has proved very beneficial to the Trust. Perhaps you would like to follow suit?
