Green Sod Land Trust attended NUI Galway Volunteering Fair, Áras na Mac Léinn, Thursday 24th September, which was organised by ALIVE in collaboration with the Galway Volunteer Centre.

Immense interest was shown by various societies. Arrangements are currently being made to collaborate.

The Trust received a huge response to the advertisement that was placed with the Galway Volunteer Centre, in September for the position of Office Amin. After an interview process the following people are now on board.

Quarterly meeting of Green Sod Land Trust Directors. Directors welcomed Maria Heneghan from Abbeyknockmoy, Co. Galway as a new Director to take effect from Saturday 5th ’09. Maria expressed her commitment to the work of protecting and conserving land and is delighted to be on board. Directors accepted notice of retirement from Jennifer Cunningham upon her retirement from the position of Office Admin – a position she held for two years. However, Jennifer will continue to work for the Trust in other ways. Director Nellie Mc Laughlin thanked her for her hard work and dedication over the past two years as Office Admin. Proposal of thanks was seconded by Mary Connaughton. It was agreed to seek a replacement for the position of Office Admin through Galway Volunteer Centre, Mill Street, Galway.
